John Dutemple - President

John founded Compton Advisors, LLC in 2003 after thirteen years as an actuary for General American Life Insurance Co. and the successor to its Group Division, Great-West Life and Annuity. John graduated from Northeast Missouri State University (now Truman State) with a BS in Computer Programming and a BM in Music Performance.

John holds the following professional designations:

Member, American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA) (1999)

Fellow, Life Management Institute (FLMI) (1993)

John is the Immediate Past President for the CFA Society St. Louis, former President (2020-21), former Vice President and Program Chair (2019-20), former Co-Chair of the Research Challenge Committee (2017 - 2019), and former Chair of its Communications Committee (2015 - 2017). He is a former Board Member (2000) and Vice-President (2001) of the St. Louis FLMI Society.

An avid musician, John was a member of the University City Symphony Orchestra for over fifteen years and served as the President of its Board of Directors (2005 - 2006).

John has lived in the St. Louis area since 1985 and lives in the city with his beautiful wife, Mary Anne and their fierce miniature dachshund, Lil' Heidi.
